Grana Padano is one of the most important and recognized Italian DOP cheeses in the world.It is a raw milk cheese, matured for at least 9 months and is produced in the areas of the Pianura Padana foreseen by the specifications. The first productions date back to 1134 in the Abbey of Chiaravalle, a few kilometers south of Milan.Grana Padano has a golden, smooth rind and a compact texture, almost without holes. On the palate it has a fragrant, delicate and sweet aroma typical of milk.
